Academic Assistance and Support

Advisors and Academic Support

The College of Education provides advisors who are dedicated to fostering autonomy and informed decision-making with their advisees. The College assigns an advisor at admission acceptance based upon a student's degree program or specialization. Students are encouraged to speak, first, with their assigned advisor to determine the best course of action.

Libraries and Learning Resources

The University of Houston offers state of the art libraries to help students succeed in and out of the classroom. The M.D. Anderson Library offers teaching support, borrowing and collections, and research services for graduate students.

The College's Center for Information Technology in Education (CITE) has a team dedicated to assist students with account creation (for CITE services and equipment), equipment checkout, lab rooms, poster printing, and a training library.

Writing Assistance

Writing assistance is available at the University's Writing Center to all graduate students wanting to improve their writing skills. Trained consultants will offer face-to-face, one-on-one consultations by appointment.

Career Services

The University Career Services is a full-service career center offering students and UH alumni resources and assistance in the formulation and implementation of their career paths.
